I am well versed in Visual Basic and am reasonably competent with HTML and Javascript, but I've never had reason/need to learn ASP. Now, the victim of downsizing, I find that any job openings for VB also want ASP knowledge/experience.
Can anybody recommend a good site to bring me up to speed on ASP?
Thanks.

here a couple of sites that really helped me when i first started:
http://www.learnasp.com
http://www.asp101.com - great for just starting - lots of examples - easy to read
http://www.asp-zone.com
http://www.asptoday.com - i learned A LOT from here - still do.
there are also quite a few good books on ASP, Wrox Press usually has some of the best ASP books. but just take your time at the book store, look through the table of contents and browse through the writing and take the one that feels the most comfortable.
asp is relatively easy, especially since you already know the language (vbscript = vb - type casting and early binding). these discussion forums can also be very helpful. last but not least, write the code yourself - even if its on the CD - when you write the code, yuo learn the code. be daring and patient - you'll get it. and most of all - have fun.
hope this helps,
john

For the next couple of days you can get some articles from www.sourceDNA.com.
www.Developer.com will be starting a new ASP+ series of articles, and these will be worth reading.
wwww.tcp-ip.com has some content, although they are really full of ads and you need to be careful that what you're reading isn't just an infomercial.

The Wrox books are a good way to start. Actually, your best bet is to learn the basics and just get your hands dirty by writing a lot of code.
