This was my email to customer support for my website, which supposedly supports
both FrontPage and Visual InterDev:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gentlemen:
I am writing because of problems I am having creating new projects via
Visual InterDev. The problem is described here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q220166
I am receiving the second error described:
"An HTTP error occurred. The server could not complete your request. Contact
your Internet service provider or Web server administrator to make sure that
the server has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed, and that the Web
application exists on that server. "
Conducting the test described in item #2 in the MS document, I got
"Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: ""
This is not exactly what the MS document says I should get, but I am uncertain if the difference is significant.
I checked the FPSE version per the instructions in item#3. The server is
using version 5.0.2.2623. I'm not sure if that is the latest available, but
regardless, it is higher than the the lowest recommended version.
I have checked as much as I can on the client side, and I even created a
new project on another server without receiving the error. I need you to
please conduct the checks of the FPSE described in item #4 on the server side.
Please let me know your results, and if you have any problems or questions.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

This was their lame response:

Okay, I admit it. I went to Winsave because they would support ASP pages and they were cheap (around $8.00 a month) -- and I got even LESS than what I paid for.
Guys, I could really use some help with the problem I described and I am also seeking recommendations for a new web host with a reasonable cost and REAL customer support for a programmer just getting started with VID and
ASP.
Obviously, if you ARE a web host AND you can help me with this problem, then I REALLY want to hear from you.
Any and all responses appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
