Microsoft’s Miracast Delivers Opposition to Google’s Chromecast

Microsoft’s new Miracast, Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter on sale for $59.99 in the US. The new device receives input directly from the host device’s Wi-Fi signal which means there is no need to leverage an existing home network or a cloud account allowing the user to cast content with a dongle device. The Miracast is also a standard dongle which allows the user to cast content from any device such as a desktop, laptop, tablet, or any smartphone capable of WiFi. Microsoft’s new caster comes with a USB port which powers the device and an HMDI port to provide the output to a display. The dongle leverages the Miracast software which is a multiplatform screencast utility which supports both Windows and Android devices. Continue reading this story here.
