Google Unveils Desktop Web Apps for Chrome

Chrome users can now install Chrome Web Apps via the Chrome Store locally to their PC or laptop, web apps that behave as if they were traditional, locally installed applications. Web apps that are written using such technologies as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS.
