Google Unveils Desktop Web Apps for Chrome

Chrome users can now install Chrome Web Apps via the Chrome Store locally to their PC or laptop, web apps that behave as if they were traditional, locally installed applications. Web apps that are written using such technologies as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS. Web apps that command their own windows independent of the browser and yet they have the ability to function offline and with connected devices while  automatically updating themselves like a traditional web app. Check out the details of this plan which has been several years in the making and see what’s so special about the new Google Chrome, browser independent web apps.
