What it could mean for Microsoft, if history holds true, is another bombed acquisition for the Software giant. While the investment demonstrate Microsoft commitment to competing in the mobile market, Microsoft has a track record of not taking full advantage of their multi-billion dollar purchases and with any luck, Skype will prove to be the billion dollar advantage for Windows Phone 7 that Microsoft expects it to be.
