Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Now Has New Hardware to Run on

With a max of 256 processor cores and 2 terabytes of memory, the new Intel Xeon-based Altix UV will run on Windows Server 2008 R2 providing more demanding business intelligence. The new Alitx UV server makes it possible to use the software for more demanding workloads. SGI's new server, based on Intel's Xeon processors and Microsoft-certified for Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server database, with Business Intelligence Development Studio data warehousing and data mining tools. The latter is Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 with additional project types specific to SQL Server business intelligence.
