Expected to be released today, "WebMatrix", a new tool to build Web sites. WebMatrix, a text-based tool for creating code. WebMatrix will be free and will support ASP.Net and PHP development. And while the tool is free, it does lack certain, more sophisticated capabilities of Microsoft's Visual Studio. Developers will be encouraged to begin coding wiht an open source application, such as WordPress, Joomla, or DotNetNuke, and than use "WebMatrix" to configure them. Other new tools being offered by Microsoft include a Web server, database, and framework.
