Details such as the dollar figure and business partnership for Microsoft and Facebook were made public back in 2007, however the fact that Microsoft had tried fervently to purchase Facebook outright were kept secret, until now. This information was confirmed just this morning during the Le Web conference in Paris, France by Microsoft's senior director of corporate strategy and acquisitions, Fritz Lanman.
