Microsoft has simplified both the planning and the upgrade or migration to their latest products and development technologies with their new MAP or Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit 5.5 Beta. The new tool is geared towards easier migration to both Windows Azure and SQL Azure, heterogeneous database discovery including MySQL, Oracle and Sybase db instances for Microsoft SQL Server migrations. The MAP also includes support for IE 8 upgrade assessment.
