Is Microsoft Silverlight too complex?

While Microsoft Silverlight is not impossible to learn, it is always evolving and can be difficult to stay on top of the technology. Since it relies on new patterns and cannot stand on its own, relying on a host of server side technologies, Silverlight developers need to be well rounded.
