Silverlight versus HTLM5

Right now the big debate is over Microsoft’s direction with Silverlight versus HTML5. Microsoft’s Windows and IE teams view Internet Explorer 9 as the replacement for WPF. With its hardware-accelerated video, fast JavaScript engine and support for the Canvas element for custom graphics. Not to mention Microsoft renewed move into the Mobile market to which Silverlight is the Mobile 7 application, its possible. But what about access to the Windows API?
