Windows 7 causing battery problems?

There seems to be a growing number of complaints concerning battery issues on TechNet. Some users said that Windows 7 provided them with warnings that their batteries were in danger of expiring or damaged, while they were fully charged

Microsoft and its hardware partners are investigating this issue. Microsoft also said that the warnings received in Windows 7 use firmware information to determine the status of the battery
