Microsoft had announced at MIX that they were doing it. Now they've done it. The Kinect SDK Beta is now available. I've blogged about the Kinect as an input device, and I've spoken about its potential impact on computing at local .NET user group meetings. With an official SDK now being available, we can begin to see what the real potential impact will be.
I receive a large number of press releases about events happening in the industry. This week I was sent an initial result from last Fall's Gartner's Application Architecture, Development, & Integration Summit. At this summit, Serena Software polled hundreds of attendees to get a sense of the top priorities.
My team was involved with a great project this week. That project was to stream a live event on one of our sites. In fact, the event is streaming live at www.DevX.com/RIA as I write this blog entry.
For online applications, having an API should simply be a part of doing business. This week I attended CloudStock where in one of the sessions John Musser talked about the change in perception that has occurred with APIs. I wrote a quick article that is published on DevX.
