Comments from the Editor

I would like to introduce Rich Hein to you this week. Rich has been helping with Codeguru for quite a while. Several years ago you might have seen him on as the forum manager. Recently, he has stepped in to take help run Codeguru on a daily basis. I'll continue to be here as well, but I now have Rich to help make sure the things happening on a daily basis actually happen. He'll also be able to give more time to helping our fantastic moderators, article contributors, article reviewers, and other volunteers. You won't lose sight of me, but you'll start seeing more of Rich!

You'll soon also start seeing some of the work that Rich has been helping to pull together for the site. One thing he has already done is to start a new monthly feature that will be seen on Codeguru. This is a Top 10 article that we will have someone write. We might choose to do more than one a month if they are successful, but for now Rich has committed to making sure he brings you at least one.

To that extent, you'll see that this week's articles include a Top 10 Features of Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Take a look at the article by Arun Karthick and see if you agree. If not, fill out a comment on the article and let us know what you think shouldn't be there and what you believe should!

On a different note, if everything goes well this week, then by next week, we might have a new layout on the Codeguru site. The changes are not large. Rather, they simply are a face lift and some infrastructure updates to put us in a better position to make more changes quicker going forward. We'll see how the testing finishes over the next day or two! Stay tuned!

Finally, for those that use to follow my movie comments in this newsletter I have to say, Avatar has burned the movie charts! Just like Star War originally did, I believe Avatar has taken film special effects to a new level. The result is being seen at the boxoffice. I bet the CGI developers had a lot of fun!

Until next week...
