This Week's Topics

Comments from the Editor
It has been an interesting week. We continue to work on building a freelancer site where people can either post projects or bid on projects that have been posted. Like any new business, we expect this to take some time to build; however, we also expect it to be a valuable service. We know there are other sites out there offering a similar service. We hope with time to make ours the best.

Take a look at Freelancer.Internet.com and see what you think. Register and set up a profile for bidding on projects. It is free to do so. If you have feedback on the site, send it my way and I'll pass it along.

Better yet, if you have a project you need help with, give the shot a try. We'll be doing a lot of promotion for the site, so its responsiveness should only get better as we work to improve and grow it. I also expect that as evolve the site, we will work to incorporate it more into Codeguru. Time will tell.

Regardless, we look to you to help by either setting up a profile and watching the projects, by posting projects, or by simply letting us know what you think!

Until next week...

Brad!

  • With JRebel, developers get to see their code changes immediately, fine-tune their code with incremental changes, debug, explore and deploy their code with ease (both locally and remotely), and ultimately spend more time coding instead of waiting for the dreaded application redeploy to finish. Every time a developer tests a code change it takes minutes to build and deploy the application. JRebel keeps the app server running at all times, so testing is instantaneous and interactive.

  • Instead of only managing projects organizations do need to manage value! "Doing the right things" and "doing things right" are the essential ingredients for successful software and systems delivery. Unfortunately, with distributed delivery spanning multiple disciplines, geographies and time zones, many organizations struggle with teams working in silos, broken lines of communication, lack of collaboration, inadequate traceability, and poor project visibility. This often results in organizations "doing the …
