... Acronym Anarchy ...

This week I did a small project for some of our developers. We have added additional categorization selection boxes on the CodeGuru article submission pages. These selections will provide additional organization for the articles. I'll tell you more about this in the coming weeks; however, this wasn't is what led to the small project.

The small project I did was not the list boxes (which would be relatively easy), but rather I provided help in translating the values that went into the list boxes. I call this project  Acronym Anarchy because I believe the acronyms being used today have gotten out of control. I've decided to write an article on this that I'll get posted in the next few  days. [now posted!]

As a teaser for my article, how many of the following fifteen acronyms can you expand? I'll give you a clue -- these are all from Microsoft! I start easy and get harder!

VB = ???
VI = ???
VS = ???
VFP = ???
AD = ???
BTS = ???
CS = ???
MMC = ???
CMS = ???
WSH = ???
PDB = ???
FFC = ???
MMS = ???
EVT = ???
ETK = ???

If you can get all of these, then you are an acronym Guru. In fact, if you can get 14 of the 15, I'd call you an acronym Guru!

Until next week!

Brad!
